Dating Advice For Women

Most women already know, men can be confusing and difficult creatures. I have been a relationship therapist for almost 12 years, and throughout my career, I have given out plenty of dating tips for women. When I began my career, the first thing I noticed was the big difference in the way that people would give out dating advice for women and for men. It seemed odd to me that most therapists advised women to be cautious, but when it came to the advice for men they had a much more “go for it” attitude. At the time this seemed rather unfair to me, but now I have a different opinion about it. Men and women are different, and women have to be willing to put the brakes on just as men have to be willing to hit the gas.

You have to understand, different men are in relationships for different reasons. The problem with some guys is, honesty often comes later on in their relationships. If a guy is in a relationship for fun, he might just say what he has to so he can get what he wants. He might present himself as a someone who is interested in a serious relationship and he may profess to get to know you more deeply, but be lying the whole way. The only way you can really know for sure is to take things at your own rate. My dating advice for women is to trust yourself, your instincts, and your needs. Do not feel like you have to slow things down simply because you're the woman in the relationship, but do not be pressured into an uncomfortable situation either.

I am going to share with you a few universal pieces of dating advice for women that I have found invaluable. For starters, each and every woman is different and, because of this, needs different advice on dating. The only thing that I can say to every women is “trust your instincts.” If something appears to be fishy about the guy you're dating, then there is a good chance something is wrong. Just because you can't put your finger on it doesn't mean that everything is fine. In all likelihood, you simply are not consciously aware of the problem. Don't be afraid to trust yourself. You should feel comfortable and safe with the guy you're with. Also, you need to be happy about who he is. If you do not feel good, It's time for a new relationship.

Unfortunately, the individuals who are most in need of dating advice for women are also the same people most reluctant to take me up on it. A large number of supposedly independent women are the ones who make the biggest relationship mistakes. Men are exactly the same way. People often wear a mask of independence to disguise the fact that, underneath all of it, they are actually very fragile and vulnerable. They may appear to have the world as their oyster, but in reality they have relationship problems that prevent them from discovering a kind and supportive partner. When my patients learn to listen to my dating advice for women, they discover how to stop the bad habits that have been holding them back from successful relationships.
